KRS-One Teams with Jackson Whalan on “From the Woods” Remix [PRESS RELEASE]

Press Release

After releasing my album From the Woods with coverage from Earmilk and Upful Life, I’m featuring KRS-One on the remix of my album’s title track. The song comes out on April 23rd on all digital streaming platforms.

I’m a lyricist and producer from The Berkshires, Massachusetts, creating hip-hop from the heart to uplift and inspire listeners around the world. I have independently released over 100 songs including LPs, EPs, singles and features while touring extensively, both solo and with a live band. Recent career highlights include opening for Talib Kweli with his live band, national tours as direct support for Moon Hooch, and song collaborations with Mr. Lif and Freestyle Fellowship’s Myka 9.

I first heard KRS-One when I was just nine years old and started to create hip-hop out in the woods. Now, 20 years later, KRS-One and I connected through mutual friends. I brought my fans together for a rapid-fire crowdfunding campaign that raised production funds in under two weeks. In addition to rapping on the remix of “From the Woods,” I produced the beat with keyboardist and composer Ian Evans. Evans also played the slide guitar riff that’s reminiscent of “Loser” by Beck. My longtime musical mentor Robby Baier played electric guitar. Grammy-winning musician Dave Eggar composed the string arrangement and played cello, joined by Kalia Yeagle on violin.

I plan to lift off from this milestone with more collaborations and single releases. As venues begin to reopen, I am currently booking shows for a future tour.
