ABOUT THE BAND
In addition to Jackson on vocals, Jules Jenssen is on drums, playing a hybrid kit, triggering electronic kicks/snares along with select samples from from the original songs. Jules is currently working with Tidus and other groups, while his primary focus is a mastermind solo project, using Ableton Live to create a next level midi-mapping rig for his drums. Dive into his world here. Dave Eggar is on cello. He is a virtuoso player with an extensive background. Dave has worked with everyone you can think of, such as from Norah Jones, Paul Simon, RJD2, Talib Kweli, Amy Lee (Evanescence), and so many more. It was an honor and special occasion to have Dave join the band for this show. Brian Ross is on bass guitar. A longtime friend and collaborator of Jackson since the early days of High School, Brian’s history includes working with Jules Jenssen in a duo called Ross Jenssen and playing on many of Jackson’s releases. Ian Evans is on keys. Back in the day he went to Berklee College of Music in Boston. He’s been making music for a long time with a plethora of people and groups, from working with artists in Haiti like Rebel Lyon, to playing with Collie Budz, Barrington Levy and many more. Ian Stewart is on trumpet, but he is also the engineer who mixed and mastered this Live Band at Rockwood Music Hall recording. He spends his time as a dedicated, well-educated mixing and mastering engineer and music producer. Ian and Jackson recently released a full-length concept album together together called These Aren’t The Words You’re Looking For. Get a closer look at Ian Stewart’s background here. Tyler Gasek is on saxophone, also a longtime friend of Jackson since high school. In addition to blowing the horn, Tyler is an incredible artist and illustrator.

As is heavily implied, this is a tight-knit crew of friends first and foremost, based primarily in The Berkshires, Massachusetts and NYC. The Jackson Whalan LIVE BAND is currently planning a Spring/Summer tour, so make sure to stay tuned as the show dates roll out. For now, enjoy this lush recording from one of the most iconic and intimate concert rooms in NYC!
