Who-Z takes its name from something deeply personal: the nickname for Housatonic, Massachusetts — a small Berkshire village on the banks of the Housatonic River where I’ve maintained studios and made music throughout my life. Known locally as “Hoozy” or “Housie,” it’s the kind of place that stays with you. The seeds of Who-Z were planted in Brooklyn in 2013–2014, when I was immersed in the underground electronic music scene. Built in Ableton and textured with original field recordings from travels in India and live percussion, these songs carry both the energy of that era and the patience of letting the music breathe — some
